Overview
Ever since I can remember, my dream has always been to work with wildlife. For that reason, from the moment I began exploring the field of veterinary medicine, my priority has been to expand my knowledge of biodiversity, conservation, and the management and medicine of wild animals through various means. This ultimately led me to study veterinary medicine and to focus my career on this direction from the very beginning.
Background
During my Higher National Diploma in Livestock and Animal Health Assistance, I completed an internship at the Centro de Fauna del Pont de Suert, where I took part in conservation and recovery programs for different species. Later, I began my degree in Veterinary Medicine at the University of Santiago de Compostela, where I became a member of the student association AENDA-AVAFES Lugo.
Throughout my studies, I completed internships and developed my final degree project at Marcelle Natureza, a zoological park and CITES rescue center dedicated to the rehabilitation and welfare of various rescued species. I also completed an internship at Seashore Environment and Fauna, providing veterinary services to the CEGMA centers, the Sevilla Aquarium, and the Andalusian Stranding Network, carrying out health monitoring of wild populations of cetaceans and sea turtles. Finally, I took part in a monthly volunteer program at GREFA to further expand my knowledge of wildlife medicine.
