Internship in Wildlife Population Health 2025-26
Overview
I am a veterinarian with special interest in wildlife conservation through medicine. My interests range from the individual approach to rehabilitating specimens to the management and monitoring of wildlife populations.
Background
I graduated in Veterinary Medicine in Universidad Complutense de Madrid (UCM) in 2023. During my student period, I did clinical placement in Zoo Aquarium Madrid and Faunia. I also did a two-week volunteer in GREFA (Rehabilitation Group for Native Fauna and its Habitat) and took part on a wildlife conservation and medicine course in South Africa (Dr. Brendan Tindall and Dr. Fabiola Quesada). I completed my final degree project in collaboration with Faunia, entitled “Alternative Plant-Based Feed Sources for Manatees in Captivity”.
Afterwards, I worked on a small animal clinic in Cantabria and on a 24h exotic animal hospital (Los Sauces, Madrid) as a veterinarian.
With this internship I hope to gain more knowledge in population management, epidemiology, pathology and infectious diseases of wildlife.
