Overview

I am an animal lover, specially for the wildlife and horses. I finished the degree in 2020, since then, I have been working in a Wildlife Rescue Center, and I’m keeping going with my academic formation in order to improve my knowledge in wildlife.
I would love to develop a phD in Wildlife Population Health to research serving the conservation and education. I think that is basic to sustainable development and for the next generations become more respectful with the environment.

Background

Since I was a child, I have a strong motivation to care the environment in the terms of fighting against polution, preserve natural areas, work for the animal welfare... So I think that we are all nature and we have to respect it to respect us. Which it means that if a forest burn, the humans burn. Or if a wildlife Population are in risk, humans are in risk too. It was that motivation that makes me work for the conservation of nature working in a Wildlife Rescue Center saving the injured animals and returning them to nature and now I am doing the internship to learn more about the wildlife population health. To get to this point I did some internships in Wildlife Veterinary Hospitals, as GREFA, AMUS and "Centre de Fauna dels Aiguamolls de l'Empordà" (CFAE) and some courses in wildlife foundations like Crew Foundation and "Fundació Mona".
Furthermore, my two finals degree projects were about the Camargue horses of "Parc Natural dels Aiguamolls de l'Empordà" (PNAE). One of them more focused on reproductive management and nutrition, and the other on clinical aspects. Both of them have the aim to improve animal welfare and the interaction of horses with the environment and wildlife. The presence of the Camargue horses is so important for the wetlands in Catalonia because they control vegetation helping the conservation of the zone and becoming an ideal zone for the rest of the wildlife. In addition, during the research I want to activate the West Nile Virus epidemiologic control in the area (PNAE). Both of the projects are published in the "Repertori de la Universitat de Lleida".
